Sandra Kay Husak, 80, of Toledo, passed away Friday, March 27, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo.

Sandra was born on January 26, 1946, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of John and Pauline (Vesely) Dvorak.

She graduated from South Tama High School and then received her CMA certificate.

On December 5, 1970, she was united in marriage to Melvin Husak. After raising her children, she was employed at a local bank, Tama Library, and was a cook in the South Tama School District. She then worked as a CMA at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown.

Sandie was a member of the Red Hat Society and regularly got together with coworkers from the Iowa Veterans Home. She enjoyed adult coloring books and traveling with her good friend, Marilyn. Sandie loved time with her family and especially her dog, Buddy.

Survivors include her daughter, J. (Jason) Tiedeman and their son; her son, Matt (Jess) Husak of Toledo and their children, Connor Mattingly, Brady, Peyton, and Tyler Husak; daughter-in-law, Kris Husak of LeGrand and her children, Evan Husak, Madison (Avery) Heinrichs, and Gavin Husak.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Melvin on November 16, 2003; son, Chris Husak; and brother, Larry Dvorak.

Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Marshalltown, 1921 Taylor Ave, Marshalltown, IA 50158.
