At the one year anniversary, still loving you and missing you and looking forward to the day I hear that wonderful laugh ring out inside the pearly gates of heaven.

Sandy was my beloved roommate and closest friend at the University of Texas. We shared senior year at Midland High School together and the honors program at Texas. Sandy was always funny, always smart, always positive. A great confidante and a great friend. And always that great smile!!! My kids fell in love with her also.
I remember when she met James, the love of her life, freshman year at UT. It was such an honor to be in your wedding. James, I am so sorry for your pain. I know that the stronger the love, the deeper the loss.
Sandy, I know that you are home with God. Say hello to Dave if you see him:)

In loving memory of 'Mrs. Jaros' (as I knew her) mother of my best friend from growing up in Michigan. Such a caring lady, vigilant moral compass, and truly happy person that I had the great pleasure of seeing so often as a teenager and then later on through college and adult life. She definitely impacted my youth, and I am better for it. I am blessed to have known her and saw how much joy she brought to those around her. We will all miss you Mrs. Jaros but if I am certain of anything, I know your faith has guided you home to God.

My sincerest condolences to James, Brad, Kevin and the entire family on your loss. You know even better than I how much brighter she made all of our lives. We will cherish her memory and pay her love forward to her grandchildren!

Sandy, my dear friend! Chi Omega sorority sister at University of Texas, Vietnam waiting wives together in West Texas, and life long friend. How I love the wonderful, wacky, brilliant, caring person you are!! You made the world a better place. As I read the condolences here, I was overwhelmed by the sense of your presence, your energy, your voice and that wonderful laugh that was only yours. What a gift.! Thank you for that short visit after such a long time. I know you greeted Jesus with outstretched arms and with the joy that you lived out every day. And I know that you now have peace at last in your heavenly home. Thank you and thank God for all you gave and for all you are!!!!

Dearest Jim,
Your beloved Sandy, through the power of the Holy Spirit, changed our lives!
Her one on one teaching taught us not to fear, but to depend on God.
When Gordon's vision became so problematic we considered remaining childless...oh what we would have missed these 31 years with our precious son Carl!
And, PRAISE God, Gordon is still sighted and we are still privileged to lead God's people into the Holy of Holies, through the Holy Spirit.
Sandy taught us much of that as well.
Thank you Jim for your grand care of her in her Alzheimer's disease.
My parents, the Porterfields loved Sandy as well and my dear mom also died of Alzheimer's disease.
Perhaps they are sharing stories today at the feet of their dear Savior, blessed again with clear minds.
Much love dear friend,
Gordon and Carol Bleich

Sandy always greeted me with a smile and was sincere when asking about my wife and daughters. She made sure that I knew that she cared about me and my family. Sandy had a profound impact on so many people. I hope that all of us who knew her try to treat others the way she treated us.

Having Sandy for a friend was like winning the lottery every day! She had the ability to make you feel as if you were the most important person in her life right behind Jim and the boys, of course. She loved Jesus and she loved to worship him, Sandy just loved life! The impact she had on my life cannot be easily described in just a few words on a page. She helped me find healing from past abuse, she helped be find joy in friendship when I learn to trust again. Sandy, was famous for say Come, meet my new best friend! Because Sandy never met anyone she didnt consider to be her new best friend. Ive missed our prayers over the phone together, for what ever reason. I am quite sure she is meeting all those who have gone before her, especially her LORD who has welcomed her home with a Well done, my good and faithful servant!

Sandy made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. When she asked how you were doing she really wanted to know. So many things to be said and none of them good enough to describe this wonderful person. She leaves a large void in so many lives and will be missed by so many people. Love and prayers to Jim, Brad, Kevin and their families.

Although we only had the privilege to know Sandy for a few years, she impacted our lives deeply. She was bright, warm and had such a sense of humor. But above all, it was her visible and tangible love for Jesus that touched us most, as well as many others. Sandy made a difference in the lives of many for eternity and we are cheering with the crowds in heaven as she completes her victory lap. With the apostle Paul she can say: "I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me, the crown of righteousness . . . and the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to Jesus' appearing." (II Tim 4:7-8) Jim you are in our prayers.

Sandy was always a bright light in a dark room - she always put others first before her. Her genuine kindness will not be forgotten.
