Sandra Jean Dicus, age 81, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026. She was born on February 24, 1944.
Sandra was educated at an all-girls Catholic school, an experience that helped shape her strong work ethic, determination, and lifelong independence. A true go-getter, she carried that spirit into every part of her life.
She was married to Lawrence Dicus, the love of her life, who preceded her in death on May 19, 2016. Their marriage was a cornerstone of her life, and she carried his memory with her always.
Sandra was a dedicated and hardworking woman throughout her career. She worked for the Pizza Hut Corporation franchise office and later managed Brown's Liquor Store in Augusta. She also spent time working at Red's Smoke Shop, where her reliability and straightforward nature were well known and appreciated.
Outside of work, Sandra enjoyed life on her own terms. She loved going to the casino and found joy and peace in her yard, where she spent countless hours gardening, tending to her rose bushes, and carefully maintaining her rock garden. Whether working outdoors or tackling whatever task was in front of her, Sandra approached everything with energy and determination.
She will be remembered for her strong will, work ethic, and the pride she took in everything she did. Sandra leaves behind many memories and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Craig Dicus, of Leon, Kevin Dicus, of Atlanta, and Michelle (Teo) Warden, of El Dorado; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her sister, Bonnie McDaniel.
Sandra was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Wayne Kletchka.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Carlson Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Cemetery immediately following the service.
