It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sandra Louise (Goodall) LeClair of Peru, NY, who left this world peacefully on November 27, 2025, at the UVM Health Network – CVPH, Plattsburgh. She was born on March 9, 1944, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to Robert Goodall and Lillian (Devine) Goodall. She was the youngest of four children: two brothers, William and Robert Goodall, and one sister, Barbara Goodall. Sandra lived a life defined by dedication, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 58 years, Charles LeClair, her sons, William LeClair (wife, Heather) and Thomas LeClair, and her daughter, Karen (LeClair) Short (husband, Jonathan). She now joins her family in heaven, including her daughter, Deborah LeClair, who passed before her. She leaves behind 10 grandchildren (Dustyn LeClair, Mistyn LeClair, Robert LeClair, John LeClair, Alison LeClair, Cailtin Coryer, Dylan Coryer, Camilla Short, Caroline Short, and Harrison Short) and 1 great-grandchild (Skylar LeClair), each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Together with her husband, Sandra co-owned and operated Chasands Boarding Kennel and Chasands Mobile Home Park, a testament to her strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and the care she showed to every person and animal who crossed her path.
Sandra had a profound love for animals, a love that shaped her daily life and brought her endless joy. Whether caring for the pets who shared her home or watching the wild creatures that passed through her yard, she treated every animal with gentleness and respect. Her deep commitment to wildlife was so enduring that she had her property officially recognized as a certified wildlife habitat by the National Wildlife Federation. Her compassion extended far beyond her family - every living thing that crossed her path felt the warmth of her care.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours, but the family appreciates all prayers, kind thoughts, and memories shared. Sandra will be laid to rest in St. Peter's Cemetery in Plattsburgh alongside her husband when he is called home.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru, 518-643-9055.
