In Loving Memory of Sandra K Lathim Malich
February 13, 1942 – June 10, 2025
With profound love and sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend on June 10, 2025—just one day before what would have marked 65 years of marriage to her one and only love, Thomas Carl Malich.
Born on February 13, 1942, she was the cherished daughter of the late Oscar and Vivian Lathim. As a proud Navy daughter and devoted Navy wife, she spent much of her life on military bases across the country. After her husband’s retirement from the Navy, they settled in Las Vegas, Nevada, where they built a life together for 42 years. In her final year, she lived in Blue Springs, Missouri, with her daughter, surrounded by love and care.
Her life was deeply rooted in her Catholic faith, and some of her greatest joys came from serving her parish and working in the parish school. She touched countless lives with her devotion, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Carl Malich; sons, Thomas Jr. and Daniel; her parents; and her beloved dog, Gracie Lee.
She is survived by her loving children: Michael (Tammy), Joseph, and Mary (Rachelle); seven adored grandchildren: Diana, Nicole, Thomas III, Melissa, Jeffrey, Colton, and Abigail; and five precious great-grandchildren: Elijah, Jackson, Daniel, Greyson, and Everly. She also leaves behind her sister Linda Lathim Fussell (Eugene) and brother James Lathim (Karen), who remained close throughout her life.
Her strength, compassion, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
