Sandra E. Martinez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, was called home on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at the age of 75. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, and her memory will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her.
She trusted God in all seasons of life and reflected His grace through her kindness, patience, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her faith was not only spoken but also lived, seen in her prayers, her generosity, her quiet strength, and open heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emilio and Corina Martinez; her sister, Diolinda “Dollie” Naranjo; and in-laws David Naranjo, Felix Garcia, Mercedes (Ben) Rael, Feliberto “Sonny” Martinez, Francisco “Frank” (Louisa) Martinez, Mary Frances Estrada, Fabiola “Fabbie” Cournoyer, and Carmen Martinez.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael J. Martinez; her son, Michael C. Martinez; her daughter, Donna Martinez (Gustavo); grandchildren Marissa Aguilar (Gabe), Matthew Aguilar (Francesca), Miranda Aguilar, Jessica Aguilar, Tamara Aguilar, and Alexander Barnard; and great-grandchildren Estevan, Lorenzo, and Emilio Aragon; siblings Nora Garcia, Debbie Stevens (Walter), Virginia Martinez, Denise Martinez (Chris), Robert Martinez (Renee) and Rick Martinez; in-laws Jeri (Mel) Martinez, Rudy Martinez, Louis (Molly) Martinez, Patty Martinez and Nelson Cournoyer.
A Rosary and Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Santa Cruz, NM. A reception will follow at the Knights of Columbus in Arroyo Seco, NM from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM.
