Sandra Lynn Meadows

Sandra "Sandy" Lynn Meadows, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, in Wesley Chapel, Florida. She graced this world with her presence on September 24, 1946, in Middlesboro, Kentucky, and lived a full and remarkable life for 79 years. Throughout her journey, Sandy shared many heartfelt adventures Traveling the country. Sher experience the wonders of various destinations, including the vibrant locales surrounding Orlando, FL, the serene beauty of Sitka, AK, the tropical allure of Oahu, Hawaii, the bustling excitement of Las Vegas, and the historic charm of Tombstone, AZ, among many others. Sandy was an exceptional homemaker, raising two sons alongside her devoted husband. She worked tirelessly to maintain the homestead for her family. Sandy applied her talents as a seamstress and quilting to benefit her family, crafting beautiful pieces cherished by those who knew her. With a spirit eager to explore, Sandy swam in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, stood in awe of the Grand Canyon's majesty, and walked through history at significant sites such as The Alamo in San Antonio, TX, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and the Civil War-era Prisoner of War Camp in Andersonville, GA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thurman and Myrtle Peters Prater, and her son, Gary DeWayne Duncan. Sandy leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her surviving family: her loving husband of over 43 years, Gary; her son, Michael Jeremy Duncan of Lakeland, FL; her grandsons, Gary Matthew Duncan of Tucson, AZ, and Christopher Michael Duncan of Greenville, SC; and her sisters, Vicki Wilder of Butler, KY, and Theresa Vanover of Middlesboro, KY. Sandy and Gary enjoyed a life in many wonderful places, residing in Ft. Wayne, Indiana; Orlando, FL; Warner Robbins, GA; Tucson, AZ; Middlesboro, KY; and finally, San Antonio, FL. A memorial service honoring Sandy's life will be held at a later date at the Coastal Cremations & Funeral Care in Zephyrhills, FL. Sandy Lynn Meadows touched the lives of all who knew her with her warmth, kindness, and adventurous spirit. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
