Sandra L. Merlino, affectionately known as Sandy, was born on October 30, 1946, in Baltimore, MD, and passed away peacefully on October 20, 2023, in Duncan, SC. Sandy was a loving, kind, and selfless woman who touched the lives of many with her warmth and generosity.
Sandy was the beloved daughter of the late Elmer and Elsie (nee-Brant). She was the cherished wife of Stephen J. Merlino, with whom she shared many wonderful years of marriage. Sandy was a devoted mother to her five children, Paul (Kim) Andrews, Scott Andrews, Derrick (Lynn) Andrews, Bree (Dan) Outten, and Peter Merlino. Her love for her family was boundless, and she took great joy in her role as the matriarch of the family.
Sandy was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored. She was a constant source of love and support to them, always ready with a kind word or a comforting hug. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will remember her as a loving and caring grandmother who always had time for them.
Sandy was the dear sister of Herman (Andrea) Bryant, Joseph (Linda) Brant, and Mike (Bonnie) Brant. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Sandy's family was her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
