Sandra Kay Molitor, Age 78, passed away peacefully and comfortably on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Edenbrook Nursing Home in Rochester, MN with family by her side.

Sandy was born on Thursday, April 3, 1947, at the Kind Daughters Hospital in Ashland Kentucky to Milford and Madie Kathien (Allen) Adkins. She was the eldest child, and she played a pivotal role in the household and in the upbringing of her siblings.

In 1966, she graduated from Boyd County High School in Ashland, Kentucky. After high school she met James Molitor. They were married, made their home in Minnesota and were blessed with 3 beautiful children.

Sandy held many jobs in the industrial manufacturing and food industry. She loved cooking, sewing, quilting, knitting and most of all spending time with all of her grandchildren and family. The holidays were her favorite time of the year. She loved to put on large southern meal buffets for anyone who walked through her door.

She is survived by her former husband, James Mathew Molitor; her three children, Matthew Joseph Molitor (Toni), Sean Michael Molitor (Dana), Jayme Suzanne Molitor and fiancé John; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her 3 sisters, Joyce Ann (Adkins) Nauer (Butch), Dorthy Francis (Adkins) Jordan (George), Patricia Gayle (Adkins) Bell (Jeffery), her brother Milford Eugene Adkins (Jane).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Milford Adkins and Madie Kathien (Allan) Adkins and sister Victoria Kathrine (Adkins) Hoffman (David).

The family would like to thank Edenbrook Nursing Home of Rochester and Mayo Clinic Hospice for the love they showed her and care they gave her throughout her stay at the home over the years. We appreciate you all very much. Thank you.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, MN. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 p.m.
