Dearest Aunt Sandy,
Thank you for being such a wonderful Aunt. As the youngest of all the cousins, sometimes when the bigger kids would be off playing, I would get left behind to sit with the adults. You would see me and scoop me up onto your lap, hold my hand and talk with me. You were always there to play with me, colour and read books with me. Covering me with a blanket as I slept on your couch when the family party was still in full swing. As I got older you always welcomed me with a big warm hug and made sure I had an extra piece of lasagne (my favourite) or a big helping of the dessert. I remember that you never missed a Birthday or Christmas. You started my Barbie Doll collection always finding the Special Edition ones or a Holiday Barbie wrapped under the Christmas Tree. So many memories of a kind loving Aunt and God Mother (by Proxy), I only wish I got to see you in person again and tell you how much you meant to me.
Rest in Peace with Uncle Ritchie.
Until we meet again
All My Love,
Anna

I'm still in shock that you're gone Aunt Sandy. There are so many memories that we shared together. You taught me how to play monopoly and were the undisputed Queen of devilled eggs and taco salad. To this day I cannot eat those two foods without smiling and thinking of you. Your kindness and warmth were what stood out about you. You always welcomed me into your home (usually with RC Cola at the ready) and were there with a warm hug whenever I needed one. You taught this Polish Chilean how to lean into being American and for that I am grateful. I can't believe you are gone and I won't be able to go for a visit and sit in your loungeroom in Chicago. I hope you are reunited with my Uncle Ritchie in heaven. Rest in Peace my beautiful Aunty. I love you.
