Sandra Marilyn Pemberton, 88, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024. Sandra, Sandy as she was known, was born in Vermont to Leroy Dunster and Belle Briggs, but spent much of her youth in upstate New York.
Sandy was married to George "Jud" Pemberton and they had four sons, Robin (Lisa), Randy, Ryan (Andrea), and Roman. Her grandchildren included Bray (Brooke), Briggs (Ashlyn), Andy, Payton, Britton, River, Ryder, and Rooke. She had two great grandchildren, Jayden and Brixlynn.
Jud and Sandy eventually settled in Mooresville, North Carolina to be closer to their children and their families, all of whom worked in NASCAR racing. Sandy was an avid race fan and enjoyed attending racing events and cheering on her boys and their teams.
Sandy was a multitalented woman. She loved hosting family get togethers of home-cooked meals. Holiday decorating and celebrating were among her favorite times. Sandy was a talented dancer and started her own dance studio in her early teens. She also helped her husband manage their family restaurant, Dunsters. Sandy adored animals of any kind and had a vast collection of many species. She also loved gardening and birdwatching. Sandy enjoyed traveling as well and would often drive without a destination just to enjoy the experience.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
