Sandra Marie (Faccin) Pergola was born on February 12, 1956 in Torrington, Connecticut. A beloved wife, mother, sister and mimi, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on the morning of September 24, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert "E" Pal Faccin and Molly (Altimari) Faccin.
Sandie was a fighter and full of life throughout her battle with cancer. She was an avid gardener and took pride in maintaining the beautiful gardens around her lakeside home. She was Bon Jovi's biggest fan, and loved listening to their music and attending multiple concerts. She loved watching her children grow, and shared so many unforgettable memories with them. Remembered as one of the greatest lunch ladies, Sandie worked many years in the Torrington School system and then later moved on to become a dietary aid at CHH. Happily retired the last few years, Sandie found the most joy spending time with her grand daughters, living lakeside, and enjoying trips to Aruba and Block Island.
She is survived by her devoted husband and love of her life, David Pergola, of New Hartford, CT; daughter Dawn Pergola, of New Hartford CT; son Scott Pergola and wife Sarah of Torrington, CT; grandchildren Natalie, Giovanna and Patrick. Sandra also leaves behind her beloved brother, Robert Faccin and Carolyn of Torrington, CT, her bonus son, Joey Trahan, closest friend Cheryl Trahan, cousin Sally Pirla, as well as her beloved Pomeranian Theodore, and her grand dogs, CoCo and Ellie. She will be remembered fondly as a nurturing mother to her children, wife, mimi, aunt and friend.
Sandie also leaves behind family: Diane Porter and husband Scott, their children Kyle, Deanna and great niece Mia; Donald Pergola and his children Michael, Katy, Lydia, and Ryan; Dean Pergola, his wife Sherrie, their children Luke, Brie, and Leah; Douglas Pergola, his wife Kelly, and their children John and Sophia.
Special thanks to Smilow Cancer Center and CHH ICU for all of their love and support they showed and provided to Sandie and her family throughout this time.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington, CT. Burial will be private. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Smilow Cancer Center on Kennedy Drive in Torrington, CT. Condolences may be sent to the Pergola family by visiting www.cookfuneralhomect.com

As I sit here to write a tribute to my dear friend, I am struggling to imagine life without Sandie. My bold, beautiful, courageous sister brought me into her circle of friends in about the 5th grade. I will forever be grateful to Sandie for that core group of lifelong friendships that she facilitated with Deni and Trish. In our awkward teenage years, she was the daredevil and brought the confidence. We followed her into some questionable situations that now give us great stories and memories to share. Truth is, Sandie was the one with the best memory to fill in the gaps when the rest of us forgot the details. Now we'll have to rely on the pictures that captured those happy times...Misquamicut, Kent Falls, Pep Club, CYO and our get-togethers for Christmas and birthdays.
Then somehow we ended up in our medically challenging adult years where she was the role model of strength, determination and perseverance, and she brought the positivity. We shared a bond that comes from a mutual understanding and love. She helped me to believe in the future when I was scared there wouldn't be one. Again, I am grateful for having had Sandie in my life. I'll bet she's seeing this and saying, "Oh, Lynnea!"
To David and all the family, I send my love and prayers. I know that Sandie will continue to make her presence known to comfort you. That's just what "Sandish" would do.
