Sandra Jean (Fiedler) Schmidt went to eternal rest with the LORD in the early morning hours of December 28, 2025. She was baptized and confirmed at St Luke's Lutheran Church in Greendale, WI.
Sandra was the third of five daughters born to Irvin R and Florence Fiedler, in 1946. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Lee Ann (Gary) Parker and Suzanne (Thomas) Wood, and son Mark. She is survived by her husband Michael Leo; sons Matthew (Bobbie) and Michael August; sisters Christine (Steven) Lister and JoEllen James; brother Irvin II (Debra); grandchildren Vincent, Amanda, Noah, Taylor, Joshua and Abby; great-grandchildren Dominic, Harlow and Harper; and many more relatives and friends.
Sandra loved Jesus deeply, and made sure her sons always attended worship with her, and Sunday School. Her LORD and family were her greatest priorities, followed closely by caring for babies! She took care of over 50 in her home, some from the age of a couple months to 8 or 9 years. She insisted that she was not a "babysitter," but rather a person who loved babies when their parents couldn't be with them.
She was known by all for her generosity and selflessness, always willing to lend an ear or a hand, and very effective with almost every kind of repair -- she fixed boo-boos, cars, clothes, electronics, toys, and just about anything else you can imagine, for family, friends, and neighbors.
A Memorial Service will be held at St Luke's Lutheran Church (6705 Northway, Greendale, WI) on Saturday, January 10th. Visitation begins at 9AM and the service at 11AM, with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the family or a charity of your choice are appreciated.
