Mundwiler Larson Funeral Home of Ortonville announces the death of Sandra LaVonne Semrau, age 61, of Ortonville. Sandra passed away on August 12, 2012 at Grace Home in Graceville, MN. Services will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church in Ortonville, MN. Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 15 from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at Zion Lutheran Church in Ortonville. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. Rev. Dr. John Ragan will be officiating and burial will be at Mound Cemetery. Sandra LaVonne Semrau was born on August 14, 1950 to parents John and Lucille (Kilvington) Semrau in Ortonville, MN. Sandy grew up in the Ortonville area where she attended school in the Ortonville Public School System; graduating from Ortonville High School. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on August 7, 2012 at Grace Home in Graceville by Rev. Dr. John Ragan. Sandy held several jobs throughout her life, including: the Big Stone Canning Factory in Ortonville, MN, the Department of Forestry, Game, Fish and Wildlife in Watertown and Aberdeen, SD, Halagain Janitor Service, Sandy's Cleaning Service, Wagner's Law Office and the Watertown Middle School. Sandy had a great love for the outdoors; she enjoyed nature, hiking, fishing and animals. She loved her trips to Ely, MN with her sister. Sandy also enjoyed books, especially ones about nature. Sandy is survived by her sister Joy Larson of Ortonville and her brother John Semrau of Ortonville, MN; her aunt Gustie Whiting of Colorado and several cousins. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents John and Lucille Semrau; grandparents Jennie Kilvington and Earl Kilvington, step-grandmother Merle Kilvington and paternal grandparents Gus and Esther Larson.
