Sandra Skladany Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farwell Funeral Service, Inc. on Apr. 4, 2025.
Sandra Jane Skladany, age 77, passed away peacefully at Fairview Senior Living in Hudson, NH, on March 7, 2025. She had been a resident of the long-term care facility since September 2023, where she earned the nickname "The Mayor" for her warm smile and outgoing personality-she knew all the staff members' and residents' names, and was the first to welcome newcomers when they moved in.
Sandra is predeceased by her father William Swartz, mother Jane (Fritchman) Swartz, fiancé Albert Budro, and brother-in-law Anthony Salerno.
She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth of Boston, MA; sisters Deborah Queeney of Little Elm, TX, and Diane Salerno of Roswell, GA; and brother Daniel Swartz and his wife Carolyn of Westfield, NJ. She also leaves behind seven nieces and one nephew and their families, whom she adored and relished spoiling with elaborate gift packages for holidays and their birthdays.
Sandra was born in Bethlehem, PA, on August 5, 1947. She grew up in Iselin and Gillette, NJ, graduating from Watchung Hills Regional High School in Warren, NJ, in 1965. She went on to become a highly skilled secretary who could type upward of 100 words per minute. Later in life, she began a new career as a home health aide, a job she was made for. She loved her clients and took great joy in caring for them.
Outside of work, Sandra was an avid reader and movie-goer. She also delighted in family vacations at the New Jersey Shore and New Hampshire Seacoast. She had elegant taste and decorated her dwellings over the years with cherished antiques, prized works of art (many featuring giraffes, her favorite animal), and a sparkling blown glass collection. She was a devoted Christian with a deep faith, worshipping over the years at Community Chapel Church of the Nazarene and Christian Bible Church in Nashua, NH. She was particularly active in organizing activities and outings for senior parishioners, with the Butterfly Place in Westford, MA, being a favorite destination.
Sandra's family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Fairview Senior Living and Home Health & Hospice Care of Southern NH. They are exceptionally skilled, tender, and attentive caregivers who made her final months joyful and serene, and she appreciated them so much. They also provided-and continue to provide-incredible support to her family as they process their loss.
Her family will be holding a small private memorial later this year. In lieu of a public celebration of life, we ask that you honor her memory by donating your time or other resources to a charitable cause close to your heart. In addition to faithful tithing, Sandra was extremely generous through other channels, most notably Compassion International, where she sponsored a child named Grace for over 15 years. Nothing would make Sandra happier than knowing her spirit of giving lives on with her loved ones.
