Sandra Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ready Funeral & Cremation Services - South Chapel on May 27, 2025.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our sister Sandra Gay Smith, age 74, on Thursday, May 15, 2025, following a heart attack.
Sandy came into this world a bit too early, weighing only about 2 pounds. She was a fighter and lived longer than anyone would have imagined. She was a very independent person who lived her life the way she wanted and had a love of the Boston Red Soxs that was beyond compare. Disney was her other love and she and Jeff visited there often. She will be remembered for her strength to endure many life challenges, her love of family, but mostly her kindness. We know she is with God and her loved ones catching up on things and watching the games. We shall miss her very much.
She was predeceased by her husband Jeff, his parents, Ken and Rita Smith, her parents Jim and Jean Gay, brothers, Jim Gay Jr, Bruce Gay, and brother-in-law Mark Lawrence.
Sandy is survived by her siblings: Debbie & Gary Welker, Vickie Lawrence, Craig & Laural Gay, Terri & Joe Boylan, John Gay, Kathy & Kevin Brown Sr., Karen Davis & Matt Brisson, Mike & Crissy Gay, sister-in-law Sue (Patrick) Sheehan, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
A joint Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday June 16,2025, at 12:00 noon at Holy Cross Church, 416 Church Road, Colchester, VT 05446. Reception to follow immediately at the church hall. The burial will be on a date to be determined by the family, at Resurrection Cemetery, Hinesburg Road in So. Burlington, VT.
