Sandra Joyce Smith

Sandra "Sandy" Smith, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in Wesley Chapel, Florida, at the age of 79. Born on August 19, 1946, in Daytona Beach, Florida, Sandy lived a life full of love, dedication, and service to others.

Sandy dedicated many years of her professional life working for the State of Florida, where she was known for her commitment and diligence. Outside of work, Sandy's heart was truly devoted to her family and her animals, who were her constant companions. She found joy in creating beautiful gift baskets, which she generously shared with residents in nursing homes, spreading warmth and kindness wherever she went.

Her faith was an important part of her life. Sandy was an active member of the Women's Club at her church and faithfully attended Christ Church/Forest Park Church in Valdosta, Georgia, where she developed lasting friendships and served her community.

Sandy is survived by her loving daughters, Krista Bledsoe and her husband, Lance, and Bethany Moon and her husband, Drew. She was the cherished grandmother of Alexis Spurling and her husband Chase, and the proud great-grandmother of Mallory Spurling. Sandy's loyal canine companion, Ed (Noodle), and her adored cats, Twinkie and Cali, will deeply miss her presence.

Services to honor and celebrate Sandy's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to local animal shelters in Sandy's memory, reflecting her lifelong passion for animals.

Sandy's warm spirit and generous heart touched all who knew her. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and community.
