It's been over 20 years. You are always in my thoughts. Losing you was hard; life goes on, the pain lessens as time goes by, but the gap never closes. The hole is there; no one else can fit it. Until we meet again, my dear Sandra.

I am looking for contact information on Sandra Fajardo Smith's family. On 9/11/11, the city of Piqua, OH held a "Day of Honor" for the 10th year anniversary of 9-11. The final part of this tribute was a memorial prayer flag, which was made up of 6000 cloth roses to represent those lost in the 9-11 tragedy. The audience was charged with randomly choosing a pair of roses, which had a victim's name on them-and through research, return one of the roses to the family, with a message that our city hadn't forgotten and was praying for each of the victims' families. My research led me to this memorial. I am hoping someone will put me in touch with someone in Sandra's family so that I might send them the rose representing her life. I hope by reaching them, they might find some comfort in knowing that others still care. Thank you

I fly an American Flag that was flown at Antietam Battlefield to commemorate those who lost their lives on Sept.11. Sandra's name was on the flag I purchased. I think about her often, even though I did not know her. She and all those who lost their lives that day are always in my prayers. They will not be forgotten.

My heart breaks when I look at your smiling face as it does for all who died that day and for the families and friends they left behind. I never knew you but because we shared the same name and profession, I feel connected to you. I'm so sorry. May God bless you and all who grieve your loss.

America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
