Sandra Ballenthin Van Erp

Sandra Van Erp, age 82 of Maplewood, died on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at home.

Funeral services will be held at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Mahtomedi on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be at Meadow Ridge Memorial Park, Faribault, on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. Arrangements are being completed by Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault.

Sandra, daughter of Herman and Edna (Olp) Ballenthin, was born on April 9, 1943, in Minneapolis. Sandy grew up on St. Mary's campus and was a lifelong supporter of Shattuck- St. Mary's School. Sandy graduated from Faribault High School in 1961. She married Gary Van Erp on August 18, 1962 and divorced in 1968. Sandra and Gary had two daughters together, Laura and Tina, who she lovingly raised. Sandy was previously employed with The Leader Clothing Store, Faribault, Minneapolis Moline Company and retired from 3M after over 35 years. Early in her career she was a fashion model and 3M Music Maker and went on to sing in many church choirs. Sandy enjoyed gardening and volunteering with Caring for Cats in North St. Paul.

Sandy is survived by her daughters, Laura (Troy) Van Erp Weippert of Tucson, AZ and Tina Van Erp of St. Paul and her cat, Gigi.

She was preceded in death by her parents; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Mahtomedi or Caring for Cats, North St. Paul.
