Dr. Sandra Eileen Van Pelt

Sandra Eileen Van Pelt, 71, of Ft. Myers, Florida, passed away on October 2,2023. Sandra was born on September 23, 1952 to parents Donald Boddy Sr. and Louise Boddy in New York City, New York. Sandra grew up in Glen Ridge, New Jersey and graduated from Glen Ridge High School in 1970. Sandra went on to study English at Rutgers University in New Jersey. Later, Sandra graduated from Texas A and M University in College Station, Texas with her Master of Education degree. Sandra completed her Ph.D. degree in Early American Literature at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi. Sandra taught English for many years at Belhaven University in Orlando and at Palm Beach Atlantic University at the Orlando campus. In 1973, Sandra met Peter Van Pelt in Montclair, New Jersy and they were married in 1979. Sandra loved to read and swim on the beach at Ft. Myers Beach, Florida. Sandra loved her Great Danes and had wonderful memories of her many dogs over the years. Sandra was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Cape Coral, Florida. Sandra was predeceased by her parents, Donald Boddy Sr. and Louise Boddy and her brother Donald Boddy Jr. She is survived by Pamala D. Boddy of Brooksville, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Grace Baptist Church, 1300 Ceitus Terrace, Cape Coral, FL 33991 in memory of Sandra.
