Sandra Ann (Hurlburt) Vining, 89, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 8, 2025. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Scott M. Vining, Jr. Sandra was born on April 6, 1936, in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late Maynard and Ann M. (Koslofsky) Hurlburt. She had resided in Springfield, MA and then in Enfield for the past 65 years, having attended Hazardville Grammar School and a graduate of Enfield H.S. Class of '54. Prior to retiring, Sandra was employed with Hallmark Cards, Inc. after 14 years of service from 1984-1998. In her spare time, she enjoyed Reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards, go out to eat, sports, planting flowers, especially marigolds, and gardening. Sandra was active with the Girls Scouts, Thompsonville Drum Corp., Enfield Garden Club and the Enfield Senior Center.
Sandra is survived by her two sons, James Vining and his wife, Ann of Enfield, and Todd Vining and his wife, Linda, of Port Charlotte, FL, her seven beloved grandchildren: Paul, Andrew, Michelle, Matthew, Nicholas, Rachel, and Susan, and a cherished great-grandchild, Kodi, along with many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, and parents, she was predeceased by two sons, Scott and Robert Vining; and five brothers, Earl, Kenneth, Ronald, Gerald and Gordon Hurlburt.
Services for Sandra will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, relatives and friends may gather with her family from 9:00 to 11:00 am, followed by a Prayer Service at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will then take place in the Hazardville Cemetery, Enfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations have been suggested to be made to the American Heart/Stroke Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
