Obituary For Sandra Lee Worstman

Sandra Lee Worstman (84)

A creative spirit, avid traveler and dedicated Grandmother who resided in Redding, California for over 39 years, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025. Just ten days shy of her 85th birthday. Born in California on November 24, 1940. Sandra was the beloved daughter of the late Eugene and Ramona Dieu who adopted her as a toddler. She had a dedicated career as a Customer Service Manager in the Retail field with many organizations. She completed her career with the KMart Corporation, in Redding where she was known for her commitment and friendly face.

Outside of her career, Sandra embraced life with deep personal interests. She was an avid painter, especially with watercolors, took great pride in her rose bushes, loved hummingbirds, collected David Winter Castles and was a passionate cook. An adventurous soul, she loved to travel, visit Art Galleries, have picnics and was equally content watching tennis or reading a book. She cherished taking on new adventures and traveling with her late husband Larry Worstman and two of her grandchildren, Christopher and Heather.

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband Larry Worstman who passed in December 2014 with whom she shared their cherished Labradoodle Alex. After Larry's passing Alex was her focus and by her side everyday until he passed in September 2025. She was also preceded in death by her husband and father of her two children John Ledford who passed in April 1971. She leaves behind a loving legacy carried on by her family. Sandra is survived by her two children John Ledford Jr. and Julie Sweeney both of California. She was a devoted Grandmother to Christopher Sweeney and Heather Sweeney both of Connecticut and Gary Mercer of California. Her greatest joy was being a Grandmother, and she loved seeing that her family tree was extending as she had seven great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their support during this time. Private services will be held for the immediate family.
