Sandra Joyce Young, 77, of Owensboro, peacefully passed away, surrounded by her loved ones, on Saturday April 12, 2025, at the Heartford House while under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born September 21, 1947, in Philpot, to the late Earl and Margery Troutman Crowe. Sandra retired from Swedish Match where she was a hardworking employee. She loved her cat Callie and her late dog Tootsie. Sandra loved spending time with her family. She was known for her green thumb and enjoyed gardening and country music.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Jason Ray Young.
Sandra is survived by her son, Jeff (Deanna) Young; a daughter, Jamie (Jason) Rose; a sister Janice “Tinker” (Jim Taylor) Brown; and her grandchildren, Trevor Young, Emma (Johnathon) Howe, Connor Rose, and Avery Rose.
The burial will be 3 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2025, at South Hampton Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at the Heartford House and at Signature HealthCARE at Hillcrest Nursing Home for the love and care they showed to Sandra.
