Sandy Dawson, a cherished soul and vibrant personality, passed away peacefully at her home on September 16, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love she so generously gave to others. Born on January 29, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Sandy grew into a remarkable woman whose fruits of labor resonated through her work, family, and friendships.
As the proud owner of Dawson-Dawson Heating & Cooling, Sandy’s entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly in her community. Sandy was known for her blunt honesty and straightforward nature; she never hesitated to speak her mind. To many, this was a gift, for she believed in the power of truth in both personal and professional relationships.
Beyond her work, Sandy's heart belonged to her family. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world.
A long-time member of the Church of Christ at Water Street in Charlotte, Tennessee. Her church friends were her second family that she loved and adored. She never failed to perk up when her church friend “Overalls” entered the room. Sandy's faith guided her actions and underscored her commitments to her community and loved ones. Her faith in Christ was unwavering unto the very end.
Beyond her professional endeavors and spiritual engagements, Sandy was also an amazing cook, delighting family and friends with her culinary creations.
Sandy's friendships were equally significant to her. She never met a stranger, and her ability to connect with others was remarkable. She loved the unlovable, reaching out to those who needed a kind word or a helping hand, embodying the spirit of compassionate humanity. She would give the shirt off her back for anyone in need.
In her leisure time, Sandy loved going gambling. She was also a passionate football fan, proudly supporting the VOLS and the Titans.
Sandy Dawson’s legacy is one of honesty, love, and friendship. As her family and friends reflect on her life, they will carry forward the lessons she imparted: to embrace the unlovable, value genuine connections, and always speak your truth. Though she has departed from this world, Sandy’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her, a lasting reminder of a beautiful life well-lived.
