Santiago Rivera, born July 25, 1936 passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025. Santiago was a lifelong resident of Santa Fe. He was a graduate of Santa Fe High where he became a basketball star. He was a land developer and took a very deep interest in civil war history and horse racing. Santiago was especially known for his sense of humor which always put a smile on one’s face.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lydia, parents Lena and Camilo Rivera, siblings: Josephine, Louis, Camilo Jr., Erlinda, Jenny, Mabel Gonzales, and goddaughters Kathy Vargas and Kalene Rivera.
Santiago is survived by his daughter Cindy. His sister Elena, brothers: Elmon and wife Lupe, John and wife Natalie, Richard and wife Celia, sister-in-law Terri Rivera, and brother-in-law Justin Armijo.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at The Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 417 Agua Fria St., Santa Fe, on August 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at the Rosario Chapel.
The nightly ceremony in Washington, D.C. will be dedicated in honor of your loved one on the day of your choosing.
