Sara Green Adcock was born October 13, 1931 to her parents, the late John Dowie and Mettie Emma Neely Green and departed this life at her home on Wednesday morning, November 12, 2025 at the age of 94. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Adcock; daughter-in-law, Loretta Adcock; three sisters, Elsie Steinbach, Christine Adcock, and Faye Cantrell; three brothers, Kenneth Green, Thomas Green and James Green. Ms. Adcock enjoyed her employment at Rutherford Farmers CO-OP from 1990 to 2020. She was a member of the Dilton Church of Christ in Murfreesboro. She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons, Larry Adcock of Smithville and Douglas (Dawn) Adcock of Murfreesboro; grandson, Anthony Adcock of Smithville; great-grandson Johnathon Adcock; sister, Joyce Green Carman of Louisville, KY; three brothers, John (Judy) Green of Walling, Eddie (Carol) Green and Jack Green both of Smithville, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, special caregiver Ms. Barbara Jackson and good friend Lucy Cooper. Ms. Sara was always quick to greet everyone with her beautiful smile, a friendly reminder of her age and a sincere I love you. Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Saturday, November 15, 2025 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Jerry Maxwell and Bud Mitchell officiating and burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in the Belk Community. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday at 10 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Dilton Church of Christ Mission Fund, in memory of Ms. Sara. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Adcock family.
