Sara Fogle Beaty 1942-2018 Dallas – Sara Frances Fogle Beaty, 75 joined our heavenly Father peacefully on Friday, May 18, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Gaston County on October 20, 1942 to the late Walter Woodrow and Nancy Rhyne Fogle. Sara devoted her life to raising her family and was very involved in all of their lives. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and working in her garden. She shared the beauty and the harvests with family, friends and those in need. She loved working puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and anyone else willing to have some fun. Sara will be remembered as a kind-hearted, generous, sweet lady who always managed to see the best in others. She demonstrated her beliefs by example and always spoke of everyone with kind words. Sara exemplified integrity and faithfulness in all aspects of her life. She deeply loved her family. Sara taught by example, and her lessons of life are part of her legacy. Family and friends were Sara's passion and delight. She loved to entertain and frequently hosted gatherings at their home. If you knew Sara, you were always welcome and will treasure all of the invites through the years to their home where she hosted countless pool gatherings and meals. She cherished hosting her Annual Christmas Party! Her hobbies included reading, working puzzles, and working cross word puzzles, and supporting her grandchildren in whatever sporting event they were participating in; she never missed an event and we never understood how "Granny" could be everywhere for all the grandchildren's activities! Sara's life will leave a lasting impression to anyone who came in contact with her…her fun-loving approach to life was such a treasured blessing and gift to us all. Sara will invariably be remembered for her limitless capacity for friendship; her unselfish service to others and her tireless devotion to her family. Sara helped teach all of us about our own strengths and gifts in this way. She also taught us how to be happy because she took joy in simple things – joy in seeing her family and joy in truly living one day at a time. We could look to her for an example of perseverance and inner strength, as she continued to fight her cancer battle in health that would crush many of us; but she showed us what it is to be strong, because strength is not just found in being the biggest; strength is found in one who keeps on going, day after day, long after others give up. Strength is found in one who knows that sometimes the greatest success is found in the tiniest of victories. In this way, she was our hero and our "Rock" – Just think of all the gifts that Sara gave us. Sara lived well of courage and strength that never ceased to amaze us all. She could smile, and feel unbridled happiness. She always loved without condition. Sara showed her love without ever saying a word. Sara gave us the gift of perspective. She reminded us that most of our problems are not really problems and to be grateful for what we have. We must savor the sweet, beautiful moments we have every day. Her legacy will remain with us all forever! Sara was a lifelong member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church, where she was active in many roles. Sara was a 1961 graduate of Dallas High School and attended Lenoir Rhyne College. She served as President of the Dallas Women's Club and a member of the "Dallas High Golden Girls". Sara married the love of her life and quickly became a "military wife", and was one of the best! She and John lived all over the world raising their family until John retired from the US Air Force. They returned home to Dallas, NC in 1981 where they raised their children together, sharing many adventures and joys. Left to cherish her memories includes her husband of 56 years, John Lawrence Beaty; her children; Terri Beaty Bishop and husband Bobby; John Lawrence Beaty II and wife Angela; Jeffrey Fogle Beaty and wife Dena; grandchildren; Hayley Beaty and John Lawrence Beaty III "Tre", Cody and Dylan Bishop, Zachary and Ashley Beaty; her grandchildren by love Courtney Scott, Alex Hunsicker, Lauren Scott Byrd, Camden Kanupp and McKenzie Frietch; great-granddaughters, Ada Marie Schafer and Mila Rose Beaty Brother, Jerry Fogle and wife Sylvia; niece, Jana Fogle and nephew, Jason Fogle; Aunt and Uncle, Ann and Henkle Rhyne; numerous cousins whom she loved dearly; also survived by extended family that she considered her own; Barbara Kelly, Beverly Wellington, Terri Lynn Helton; Matt and Elaine Kanupp; many special US Air Force Pararescue families. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:45 p.m., Wednesday, May 23rd prior to the Celebration of Life Service at 4:00 p.m. at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 103 West Church Street, Dallas, NC with Rev. Dr. John Merck and Reverend Paul Kanupp officiating. Interment will follow the service. Pallbearers will be Hayley Beaty, Cody Bishop, John Lawrence Beaty III "Tre", Zachary Beaty, Dylan Bishop and Ashley Beaty. Memorials may be made to Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 103 West Church Street, Dallas, NC 28034 or Gaston Hospice, Post Office Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054. I speak for all Canadian Para Rescue/ Sar Tech Friends north of the border when I say how deeply sorry we are to hear of the passing of Sara! We have known John for many years through our joint American-Canadian search and rescue exercises (SAREX), and when we started having joint Airforce, International, Association, American/Canadia reunions, the Beaty's (Sar and John) attended every Canadian one! Therefore John and Sara became a household name on both sides of the border.
The Para Rescue Association of Canada and their Families wish you Sara! "Godspeed and Rest In Peace"!!!!

I hold many special memories if time spent with Sara while visiting with my family Wootsie and Roach Noles across the street from Sara growing up. Many a summer we spent time together attending VBS at Holy Communion , and enjoyed times on the back porch swinging and having girl time. My thoughts and prayers to Sara's family, to Jerry and family at the loss of Sara. From the beautiful obituary I know she will be missed by many and that she blessed many lives here on earth.

Beaty family, The loss of a mother can never be easy but everyone that knew Sara knows she is in heaven where she will continue to look over her loved ones, protecting and guiding. So sorry we cannot be there to honor Sara's life. I know my mom and dad will be, who so loves the Beaty family. We have such fond memories and what a better life can one have then within a military family! God bless and know you and yours are being prayed for as you walk this earthly loss, but celebrate the heavenly gain.

John and family,
No words said at this time will help ease the pain of your loss of Sara. All your prayers last year for Charlene were a blessing to us and we all know God works in special ways for each of us. He may have called Sara home at this time to avoid what he knew lay ahead for her with her fight with her cancer. We all know Sara would have fought it to the end and never complained, but it would have taken a heavy toll on her, you, and the family. God knows what is best for all of us and Charlene and I will always remember her as a very special lady and a dear friend.

God bless you and your family and may Sara RIP. We will all get to have another reunion one of these days in a much better place.

God bless,

John and Charlene

There was not a better Christian person than Sara Fogle Beatty. She served by example. Sara so loved her family and friends. As a much younger person, I frequently found myself being ridden around Gaston County with Gail Houser by Sara. Gail and I were still in junior high when Sara was in high school. Sara certainly fought cancer with everything she had. Praying the family will have such wonderful memories there will be little time for grieving.
