Sara Ramona Horn Sasser Bonner

Sara Ramona Horn Sasser Bonner, 87, of Talladega, AL passed away on Saturday, January 03, 2025. A funeral ceremony will be held in her honor at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 07, 2026, at Usrey Funeral Home of Talladega with Rob Paul and Robert Klotz officiating. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow directly after the service at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Ramona was a native of Clay County and lived most of her life in Talladega, AL. She was the owner and operator of Ramona's House of Beauty which she opened in 1974. Serving the Talladega area for over 50 years, Romona loved all things bright and beautiful. She could transform a head of hair, a bouquet of flowers, or a room with a quick flourish of her capable and creative hands. But more than that, she could light a room with her smile. Mom loved butterflies and pretty knickknacks. Mom loved snow. She liked to travel and see new things. She loved Alabama football. As one of the hardest working women ever, she would have gone to the beauty shop the morning she fell and tore her rotator cuff just before her 85th birthday. Mom was known for taking care of anyone God placed in her path. The sum of all the things she loved, accomplished, and hoped can be seen in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her loving heart, dedication to family, abundant energy, and work ethic weave together a legacy of strength for our family to draw from in the days ahead.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Bonner; daughters, Jane (Bruce) Scott and Julie (Thad) Watson; stepchildren, Paul Bonner (Joanie), and Jennifer Beckett; grandchildren, Gray (Renee) Scott, Megan (Calen) Lambert, Sara Scott, Zac Will (Tammy) Bailey, Jack Bailey, Erin (Jaylon) Bennett, Tristyn Watson, Tabitha Watson, Savannah Bonner, Taylor (Maggie) Beckett, and Devon (Helyn) Beckett; ten great-grandchildren, Evie Lambert, Lucy Lambert, Zane Lambert, Miles Lambert, Jonas Scott, Cooper Bailey, Porter Grace Bailey, Josiah Bailey, Sanji Bennett, Levi Bennett, Khalyeesi Beckett, Aldace Beckett, Archer Beckett, and August Beckett; uncle, Alton Horn, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bonner was preceded in death by her parents, Hollis and Martha Jane Horn, and her brother, Herbert Horn.

Gray Scott, Will Bailey, Jack Bailey, Taylor Beckett, Jaylon Bennett, and Calen Lambert will serve as pallbearers.
