Sara Dean Obituary
Sara Ann Barlow Dean, age 86, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, in Shelbyville, Ky.
She was a member of Shelbyville First Baptist Church. She retired from Kentucky State Government as a secretary in the Department of Transportation. After retiring she worked as a secretary and salesclerk at Wakefield Scearce Gallery for 31 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dean and her parents, Roy Edward Barlow and Fletcher Hodges Barlow.
Sara is survived by her son, Mark Dean (Alisa) of Shelbyville; her grandsons, Barlow Dean, Bryant Dean and Knox Dean, all of Shelbyville; her brother, Charles Barlow (Mary) of Jamestown, New York; and her nieces, Brita Johnson and Holly Barlow, both of Jamestown, New York.
Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. (noon) Saturday, Jan. 3, 2025, at Shannon Funeral Home. Burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. until time of service.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Shelbyville First Baptist Church, 1516 Midland Trail, Shelbyville, KY 40065.
