Sara Marie DeLaFuente, known affectionately as Santa Maria or Sara Boots, departed this life on November 6, 2023, at the age of 31. Born on April 17, 1992, in Ontario, Oregon, Sara was a bundle of energy, love, and laughter, radiating light onto all those fortunate enough to know her. Her infectious humor, immeasurable love, and sharp intellect made her a beacon in the lives of many.
Sara was a humble cook and a masterful one at that. For five years, she filled the kitchens of various restaurants with her delightful culinary creations, her laughter, and her joy for life. She was not just a cook but a loving mother, a smart conversationalist, a passionate music lover, she loved to dance even though she had no rhythm and was a dear friend. A woman of faith, she was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, her faith guiding her through life's ups and downs. Sara took life as it came, savoring each moment with grace and gratitude. Her love for cooking was only surpassed by her love for her daughter, Heavenly, who was the center of her universe.
Sara DeLaFuente is survived by her Mother Michelle Ybarra, her father SanJuan Luna DeLaFuente, her Brother Michael Joseph Lowman, her Brother SanJuan Luna DeLaFuente Jr (Johnny), her Sister Bianca Lynne DeLaFuente (Jesse), her Sister Linda Mercedes DeLaFuente, her Daughter Heavenly Michelle Sorensen, her Grandmother Mary Esther Ybarra and her Grandmother Bertha Luna DeLaFuente, also by lots of aunts and uncles as well as cousins. Sara was preceded in death by her aunt, Linda Ybarra, her Sister Jennifer Lynne Padilla and cousin, David Ybarra. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, 14 Nov 2023 at 6:00pm MST, and Wednesday, 15 Nov 2023 at 9:45am MST at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, Utah. A funeral service will take place at the same venue on Wednesday, 15 Nov 2023 at 11:00am MST.
In celebrating Sara's life, we invite you to leave your precious memories of her and send photos to her Mother Michelle. As we remember Sara's extraordinary life, let us cherish the laughter, love, and wisdom she shared with us all.
