She earned awards such as the Distinguished City of Biloxi Volunteer of the Year, the Bobby Eleuterius Award for service in the City of D’Iberville, Casino Magic Employee of the Year, and the Judy Martino Spirit Award. Everyone who knew Sara knows she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be remembered for her generous heart, fiery personality, and her loyalty to those she loved.
Sara is preceded in death by her grandparents, Julius and Wilda Taranto and Frank and Regina Seymour; her parents, Julius “Scooter” Taranto and Fern Seymour.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 43 years, Joey Miller; her daughters, Jessica (Edward) Riddle and Katie Miller; her granddaughter, Jara Riddle; her siblings, Susan (Donny) Wicks, Gwen (Cleo) Waits, Troy (Bonnie Jones) Husley, Carrie (Melvin) Taranto-Chipley, and Julie Taranto; her step parents, Roy Husley and Barbara Taranto; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, Southernette “Sistas,” and dear friends.
