Sara J. Shearon, 90, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.
Born on April 24, 1935, in Milwaukee, WI, Sara was the daughter of the late Jane VB Reilly McClay (Van Brunt, Boeing) and the late Edward Arthur McClay.
Sara lived a beautiful, adventurous life. She graduated from Milwaukee University, Monticello College and the University of Florida. She married Lt. George B. Shearon, but later divorced. She was an airline attendant. Sara enjoyed being a member of the garden club, reading books, working crossword puzzles and reading the daily newspapers. Most importantly, Sara was a loving mother and homemaker - she loved her family dearly.
Sara is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Arthur McClay and Jane McClay; her daughter, Leslie J. Shearon; sons, G. Daniel Shearon and Robert David Shearon; and her only brother, Daniel V B McClay.
Sara is survived by her daughter, Jane Shearon-Hanna; grandson, George S. Hanna and his wife, Nelly Rusher; and great-granddaughter, Lee Rusher Hanna, who is eight months old.
A private celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.
