Sarah Evelyn Campbell

Sarah Evelyn Campbell, known affectionately as Evelyn, peacefully passed away on November 7, 2023, in Hendersonville, Tennessee. She was born on January 16, 1935, in Cadiz, Kentucky. Her departure leaves a void in the lives of those who cherished her deeply.

Evelyn dedicated a significant portion of her life to working as a bank teller. She worked at Commerce Union Bank before transitioning to Bank of Goodlettsville, where she continued to serve with unwavering dedication. 

Described as quiet, easy-going, gentle, and loving, Evelyn possessed an endearing personality that drew people towards her. Her calming presence was a balm for those around her and offered solace during challenging times.  Evelyn was a member of First Baptist Church Goodlettsville and also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star White House Chapter 222.

Outside of work, Evelyn treasured her time with family and friends. For sixty years, she shared a beautiful journey alongside her beloved husband Thomas D. "Tommy" Campbell. Their bond served as an example of enduring love and unwavering devotion to all who knew them. Together they weathered the storms of life and cherished every moment of joy that came their way.

Evelyn's son Charles Campbell and grandson Isaac Campbell were the lights of her life.  Her love knew no bounds when it came to her family, always making sure they felt supported and loved.

Among the close friends that Evelyn held dear was Ruth Jackson. Their bond served as a testament to the enduring power of friendship.

A visitation honoring Evelyn's memory will take place on November 9, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. An Eastern Star Service will begin at 6 pm.  The funeral service conducted by Pastor Lyle Larson will be held on November 10, 2023, at the same location from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Following the funeral service, Evelyn will be laid to rest by Tommy at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Goodlettsville.
