Dear Johnny, I said it all in my letter, but still had to take this opportunity to express once again our exteme sadness over losing Sarah. Besides being a friend since I can't remember when, she introduced me to my husband of 63 years and remained such a dear and loving friend for the rest of our lives. It was with great distress that Betsy and I learned of Sarah's death. She was a important part of our life and we will miss her greatly. Her Cramerton home was the gathering place of a splendid group of young people. Her parents always made us feel at home. She was one of the most popular girls in our crowd and a much sought after date. I even rode my bycycle all the way from Gastonia to Cramerton just to see her. She will always be remembered an an important part of our life as a sweet adorable girl.
