Sarah Jeanne Decker died Tuesday the 28th of October 2025. She died peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer. Sarah was born in Minden, Nebraska on March 18, 1950 to Barbara (Fruhling) and James F. Wilsman Sr. of Franklin.
She lived in Franklin County all her life and graduated from Franklin High School in 1968. She attended Kearney State College until she married Dennis Decker at the United Congregational Church, Franklin, June 20 1971. To this union two children were born, Chris and Sally.
Sarah was a member of the united Congregational Church in Christ her entire life. She and Denny loved playing cards and spending time with friends. She spent hours at her children’s activities and sporting events. When her grandchildren arrived, she spent many hours devoting her whole heart and time to them.
Sarah worked at her family’s grocery store, Rightway Grocery, for nearly fifty years, and knew most everyone in Franklin. She was an avid supporter of her community, donating quietly yet generously to local groups, charities, and benefits through the years.
Sarah is survived by her daughter Sally Wentworth and son Christopher (Sabrina) Decker; two brothers: James (Pam) Wilsman Jr., Stuart (Jacquie) Wilsman; sister-in-law Lana Sesna, and brother-in-law Kevin Slocum; grandchildren: Logan Wentworth, Spencer (Mckenna Darby) Wentworth, Hudson Decker, and Sawyer Decker; and great grandson Wynn Wentworth; nieces and nephews: Kasi (Paul) DiBello, Andy Wilsman, Tony (Carrie) Wilsman, Joseph Wilsman, Brandi (Adam) Charter, Bryan (Kassie) Slocum, Nicole Sesna; and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
Sarah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Dennis Decker; brother Jeffery; sister-in-law Debra Slocum; son-in-law Leland Wentworth Jr.
Sarah’s funeral service will be held 1:00pm Saturday, November 8, 2025 at the United Congregational Church in Christ, Franklin, Nebraska with Pastor Jay Towell officiating. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin. Hutchins Funeral Home, Franklin, Nebraska assisted the Decker family with these arrangements.
