Sarah Elizabeth Glosson Hinshaw

Sarah Elizabeth Glosson Hinshaw, 89, of Siler City, went to her Heavenly home on Monday, December 29th, 2025, at Ramseur Rehabilitation and Healthcare, surrounded by family.

Sarah was born on February 27th, 1936, in Alamance County to the late Endsley and Cammie Rose Johnson “Etta” Glosson. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Arnold Hinshaw; her seven brothers, and four sisters.

Sarah worked as an upholstery cutter for Boling Chairs for 25 years. She loved gardening, baking cakes, and she made the best homemade chili. She also loved to sew and to go bowling. Sarah attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Pittsboro and enjoyed her church family and activities. Sarah will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Left to cherish Sarah’s memory are her daughter, Cynthia H. Smith of Siler City; her sons, Glenn Hinshaw and his wife, Anne, and Daniel Hinshaw – all of Siler City; her grandchildren, Daniel Smith, Robert Smith, Drew Hinshaw, Luke Hinshaw, and William Hinshaw; her great grandson, Levon A. Smith and another due in March, Robert M. Hinshaw.

A funeral service will be held Friday, January 2nd, 2026, at 11 am, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Pittsboro. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Services will be officiated by Johnny Glosson and Reverend Travis Bodine. Family will be accepting friends and family other times at the home of Glenn Hinshaw, 5579 Siler City Snow Camp Rd. Siler City, NC 27344. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Randolph Hospice House, 446 Vision Dr. Asheboro, NC 27203.
