Sarah Lou Kloss Brooks peacefully went to her heavenly home on February 7, 2024. Born on February 12, 1945, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she left a lasting impact through her warmth, kindness, and creative spirit.

Sarah graduated from Jacksonville High School outside of Little Rock, Arkansas in 1963 and began a life of love and companionship when she married Robert "Bob" Eugene Brooks on July 13, 1963. For over 60 years, she stood by his side, creating a foundation of love and support for their family.

In the early years of their marriage, Sarah worked as a bank teller in Safety Harbor, Florida. It was during this time that the couple welcomed their son, Robert Todd Brooks, into the world on May 29, 1964. Later, in 1971, after relocating to Lafayette, Indiana, Sarah and Bob expanded their family by adopting 13-month old Jennifer Paige Javins.

Sarah's talent extended beyond the confines of her home as she honed her skills as a custom drapery and upholstery expert while residing in Lafayette. Friends and customers alike marveled at the meticulous craftsmanship she poured into her work for over 40 years. Her dedication to perfection was evident in every stitch, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who admired her artistry.

During their eleven years in Lafayette, the Brooks family forged deep relationships at Faith Baptist Church, and Sarah discovered her love for gardening-a passion she continued to nurture throughout her life.

The family's journey took them to Martinsville, Virginia, in 1981, where they further embraced community life at Chatmoss Baptist Church. In 1985, after years of cherished memories in Martinsville, they relocated to Greensboro, North Carolina, opening a new chapter in Bob's career.

In 1987, Sarah and Bob relocated to Thomson, Georgia, and built a country home designed by their son and lovingly decorated by Sarah. Life's journey then led them to Memphis, Tennessee, in 1990, before finally settling in North Carolina in 1992. In Charlotte, Huntersville, and Concord, Sarah continued to refine her drapery and upholstery skills, and built lasting friendships at Hickory Grove Baptist Church and, finally, Pitts Baptist Church.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Bob Brooks, son Todd Brooks, daughter-in-law Susan Brooks, sister Mary Kloss Floyd, nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Paige Javins, grandson Joshua Aaron Brooks, father Sidney James Kloss, mother Regina Gordon Kloss, and brothers Charles Lee Kloss and Bobby James Kloss.

Sarah Lou Kloss Brooks will be remembered for her artistic talent, and the warmth she brought to the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration for those she leaves behind.
