Sarah Lillie, 60 of Washington, died Saturday, October 11, 2025, at her home.
There will be a gathering from 4-6:00 PM, Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. A private family celebration of life will be at a later date. A general memorial has been established for Hospice of Washington County.
Sarah was born July 22, 1965, in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Gordon and Vada (Barr) Secrest. She graduated from Washington High School in 1983 and was united in marriage to Roger Lillie on August 22, 1996, at the family farm near Washington. Sarah previously worked as a cashier for Whitetails Unlimited, drove as a loader for River Products, and drove a Washington County minibus. Sarah was very proud of herself for passing her CDL test.
She enjoyed working at her business Shabby Bliss, repurposing home décor and wearables, spending time with her grandchildren, family, and with the animals that she had on the farm. In her downtime, she made rugs from old jeans that people donated to her. She liked sewing, planting flowers, and attending the farmer’s market.
Survivors include her husband, Roger of Washington; children, Nicole Bagg (Andrew) of Cedar Rapids, Vanessa Deao (Greg) of Cotter, Jacque Arn (Keelan) of Cedar Rapids, Craig Lillie (Destiny) of Crawfordsville, and 12 grandchildren.
Siblings, Angela Secrest of Waller, TX, Daniel (Cynthia) Secrest of Washington, IA, Rollin Secrest of Wellman, IA, Mary Walker of Stanhope, IA, Kevin (Martha) Secrest of Frederick, OK, Jenny (Steve) Apland of Bondurant, IA.
Sarah is preceded in death by her Parents.
