Private graveside services for Sarah Ann Weaver Malone, were held at the Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in Dexter, Georgia, on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. Sarah died on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the age of 96.

Sarah was born in Dudley, Georgia on December 30, 1928 to the late James Jackson Weaver, Sr. and Pauline Duggan Weaver. After high school, she attended the Macon Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated in 1949 as a registered nurse and worked at the Dublin VA Hospital for a little more than a year. She married Roy Malone in 1950 and together they built a life and raised four children to love God and respect nature. She was devoted to Roy and her four children. She and Roy were active and inspirational in the lives of their 14 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren.

Sarah was preceded in death by her son, Patrick Duggan Malone of Dexter, GA; her husband of 71 years, James Roy Malone, Sr. of Dexter, GA; 5 brothers: James Jackson Weaver, Duggan Dudley Weaver, Albert Jerry Weaver, Robert Palmer Weaver, Joseph Paul Weaver, and her 3 sisters: Mary Pauline Jernigan, Martha Johannah Hickerson, and Alma Louise LeRoy.

Survivors include her children, Pamela M. Mullis (Tommy); James Malone, Jr. (Doris Jean); Gail M. Poole (Woody); and daughter-in-law, Kathy Lord Malone Sanders (Joe), wife of Roy and Sarah's late son, Patrick Malone, all of Dexter; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jeremy Mullis (Missy) and children Morgan and Dalton; Corbin Mullis (Misty) and children Levi, Ellie Ruth, Lorelei and Graydon; Jessica Mullis Lamb (Mark) and children Madelyn, Jaxson and Nora; Nicholas Mullis (Sarah) and children Timmy and Penny; Tyler Mullis; Kristopher Mullis and children Jettson and Aaliyah; Barrett Malone (Cassie) and children Mary Peyton, Ann McRae, Evelyn, and Royce; Keegan Malone (Katie) and children Fordham and Emmett; Jacob Poole (Laura) and children Malone, J.W. and Camilla; Ryan Poole (Caroline) and children Hadley and Cap; Sarah Poole (Brian) and children Max and Florence; Kevin Malone (Sherrie) and children Logan and Chandler; April Malone Lauber (Mark) and children Ethan, Grant and Luke; Bill Malone (Meredith) and children Tanner and Duggan along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Sarah's grandsons served as pallbearers.

No flowers, please. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the scholarship fund set up in honor and memory of her son Pat who died of cancer. Donations may be sent to The Pat Malone Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Josh Crews, Bank of Dudley, P. O. Box 4098, Dublin, GA 31040.
