Sarah Jayne Nicholls, 49, of Spring Lake, Michigan, went to heaven on Sunday, November 9, 2025. Sarah was a child of God, wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Sarah was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 30, 1976 to her parents, Jerry & Marilyn Jonker. Upon arrival at the hospital, she let her parents, nurses and everyone on the floor know she would be a force to be reckoned with. She loved her nearly weekly visits with her grandparents. She learned from her grandparents a work ethic that few can match and from her father a craftsman's eye for detail.
Sarah loved landscaping, interior design and was an accomplished cook with a countrywide following of her Grandma's recipe for Banket. With her simple and elegant style, she made her home into something special. Her smile and genuine personality were noticed by all. Sarah treasured her friendships with Heidi, Sarah and Paige.
Mark & Sarah were married on January 13, 1996. They were married for 29 years. She loved raising her four boys, they were the joy of her life. She loved the Lord and had a desire to pass on that legacy to her family and friends. A Bible verse special to Sarah was: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
Those left to honor Sarah's memory are her husband, Mark Nicholls; children Jacob (Jessica) and granddaughter, Noah (Chloe), Caleb, Elijah (Lydia); parents, Jerry & Marilyn Jonker; siblings, Jill (Lance) Davids, Russel (Anne) Jonker, Caren Benting; father- and mother-in-law, Del & Sherry Nicholls; along with many in-laws, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends.
