Sarah "Sally" Anne Olsen, age 87, of Swartz Creek, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024, at her home. Born on December 14, 1936, in Flint to the late Robert and Pauline (Burdgick) Clark. Sally was a cherished mother, grandmother and sister. She truly admired her many in-laws and friends both living and deceased.
Sally was a dedicated individual who touched the lives of many through her compassion and unwavering support. Following her marriage to Laurance Olsen on July 1, 1955, in Flint, she devoted herself to creating a loving home for her family while also pursuing a career. In the past she has worked for Sarah's Clothing in Clio and worked in property management for Cummings Property. Her commitment extended beyond her family as she generously volunteered her time with various organizations including the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Genesee County) and supported causes promoting women's rights.
An avid traveler with a generous spirit, Sally selflessly volunteered in Burmese refugee camps for women and remained actively involved in contributing to society. She will be remembered for her kindness and advocacy for those in need.
Sally leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication. She is survived by her loving children: Rebecca Paris, Karin Coles, Dr. Kurt Olsen, Dr. Kristin Olsen, and her partner Mike Ruby; grandchildren: Stefanie (Steven) Crane, Matthew (Kelly) Paris, Dominic Paris, Emily (John) Lazur, Joseph Paris, Kathryn Coles, Alex (Sarah) Coles, Mary Paris, Doug (Nicole) Coles; numerous great-grandchildren; brother Terry (Sue) Clark; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sally was preceded in death by her son, Robert "Bob" Olsen. Sally's memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. A graveside service will take place 3:30 PM, Saturday, July 6, 2024 at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. A picnic gathering will take place following the graveside at Elms Park, 4150 Elms Rd, Swartz Creek, Mi 48473. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Genesee County) PO Box 1320, Flint, MI 48501.
