Sarah Marie Twitty

Sarah Marie Twitty, a devoted servant of God, loving wife, mother, sister, and friend, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. She passed away just over four months after her beloved husband, Lawrence Twitty, with whom she shared 50 beautiful years of marriage-a testament to enduring love and faithfulness. Born on November 1, 1949, in Troy, New York, Sarah was the sixth of eleven children born to Andrew and Mary Alice Venson. From an early age, her heart was turned toward God's Word, a devotion that shaped every aspect of her life and touched countless others. Sarah's legacy is one of faith in action. A dedicated Sunday School teacher and Bible Study leader, she found joy in bringing the Scriptures to life for all ages. Her creativity knew no bounds-she was a gifted puppeteer, a vibrant leader of her church drama team, and the driving force behind numerous programs designed to help young people grow spiritually and personally. Sarah poured her heart into mentoring teenage girls, helping them build self-esteem and understand their worth in God's eyes. Together with her late husband, she raised three loving children-Stacia (Twitty) Jones, Lawrence Twitty, II, and Saniosa (Twitty) Scott-who carry forward her spirit of kindness, service, and unwavering faith. Sarah's commanding strength, strong sense of integrity, innate knack for organization, and boundless compassion were a light to everyone blessed to know her. Though our hearts ache at her passing, we rejoice knowing she is at peace, reunited with her beloved husband and welcomed into her eternal home by her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her three children, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren, five brothers and sisters, and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
