Sarah Ann Webb, born on July 12, 1960, in Independence, Kansas, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, in her hometown. Sarah’s life was a testament to love, strength, independence, and a deep commitment to family. She touched the lives of many with her thoughtful nature and her unwavering desire to help others.

Sarah cherished her time with family, particularly when her daughter Sherie would come home to visit. Their nights spent watching old scary movies became a beloved memory for both of them, with Sarah playfully claiming, “I’m not asleep, I have one eye open” as she dozed off. Her passion for family gatherings was evident in her enjoyment of holidays and birthdays, where her daughter and grandchild filled her home with laughter and joy.

In addition to her family, Sarah had an entrepreneurial spirit that shone brightly through her love for yard sales, where she delighted in selling various items and connecting with her community. Raising a strong, independent daughter stands among her proudest accomplishments, showcasing the values she instilled in her family.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Webb; her mother, Sarah Mae White; her father, Eugene Mothershed; and her sisters, Mary Mabrey and Terri Mothershed, all of Independence, Kansas. She also mourned the loss of her cousin, Ronnie Johnson, of Independence, Kansas.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Sherie Young; son-in-law, Carlton Young; and granddaughter, Alijah Young, all of Kansas City, Missouri. Additionally, she is survived by her brothers, Johnny Lee Relford and Robert Lee Relford; niece, Nicole Sullivan of Atlanta, Georgia; and brother-in-law, Frank Mabrey of North Carolina, nephews Derek Darkis, and Dominic Darkis of Independence, Kansas, all of whom hold a special place in their hearts for the loving memories shared with Sarah.

The family wishes to acknowledge the kindness, love, and support received during this difficult time through calls, texts, and messages of concern. They are deeply grateful for the uplifting prayers that have provided them with endurance and strength, and they appreciate the words of encouragement that have brought them comfort throughout this journey.
