The family of Sau Thi Hennecke, fondly known as "Suzy," is deeply saddened to announce her sudden passing on March 8, 2026, in Toledo, Ohio, at the age of 78.
Sau was born in Quang-Ngai, Vietnam. She met her future husband during the height of the Vietnam War and immigrated to the United States with her husband and child in 1975.
Sau was a devoted wife and sadly, passed just 22 days after her husband, Paul. Surviving Sau are her daughter, Kim; her sister, Kristen; Kristen's spouse, Luis; and their children, Jennifer, Sara, and John. Sau was born into a family of 12 and also leaves behind several brothers and one sister, as well as their spouses and children, still residing in Vietnam.
Sau worked in the nursing home field before retirement. This occupation suited her caring nature and love of helping people. Her joys included decorating her yard and gardening.
Sau's family is extremely grateful for her caring neighbors, Quin Deitering, Kent and Julie Peace, Rose Lawson, Dave and Madi Pelton, and Mike and Ofelia Vargas, who supported her while her husband was in hospice and after his death. We are also grateful for family friend, Chris Jakab, who sought emergency medical attention for Sau before her passing.
