Saundra Kay Bamfield Newton, 84, of Dardanelle, Arkansas passed away peacefully on October 30,2025. She was born on April 16,1941in Zanesville, Ohio to Beryl and Harold Joseph. She was adopted a year later by her loving parents Ralph and Esther Bamfield of McConnelsville, Ohio.

Sandy retired from Walmart after 18 years working first in receiving and then in the fabric department in Paris, AR, DeRidder, LA, and Dardanelle, AR. Her favorite pastime was to buy fabric to sew and quilt. She would always be working on several quilting projects. She loved going to the nursery to buy plants and flowers. Sometimes she would even plant them in her flower beds. She also loved collecting Mickey Mouse memorabilia and enjoyed numerous trips to Disney World.

She is proceeded in death by her parents Ralph and Esther Kuhn Bamfield. Her husband Roger Newton, two daughters, Susan Smith and Stephanie Fondren, and one son Timothy Newton. Two sisters Lois Jane Stemm and Marie Hummel.

She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Hicks and husband Haskel of Dardanelle, AR and Stacy Burkett and husband Cory of Clarksville, AR. Nine grandchildren Jayme and Corey Smith, Dakota Needham and Caleb Hicks, Bobby Joe Fondren III and Markie Stille, Colby and Easton Burkett and seven great grandchildren.

Cremation will be under the direction of River Valley Cremation in Dardanelle, AR with a celebration of life/ visitation to be held at Paris United Methodist Church Sanctuary on November 22, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held in McConnelsville, OH at a later date.

In leu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Gentiva Hospice, 3801 West Main St. Ste A, Russellville, AR 72801 or St. Jude's Children Hospital in Sandy's honor.

The family would also like to thank Dardanelle Nursing Home and Gentiva Hospice for their attentive and loving care of our Mom.
