IN LOVING MEMORY

Saundra J. Pruett

Jun 26 1948 - Jan 31 2026 Jan 31 2026

Saundra (Cullum) Pruett, a resident of Princeton, Texas, passed away January 31, 2026 at the age of 77. She was born on June 26, 1948, to her loving parents, Melvin Harold Cullum and Genevieve (Graves) Cullum in Salina, Kansas. Saundra spent her childhood living in several communities across Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, experiences that helped shape her adaptable and caring nature. She graduated from high school in Blackwell, Oklahoma, and shortly afterward pursued cosmetology school. As a young woman, she worked in the field, taking pride in her skills and enjoying the opportunity to help others feel their best.

She was a loving and devoted mother, blessed with three children, Max, Krysta, and Jamie, who were the center of her world. Her home was a place of comfort, warmth, and constant activity, always filled with care, conversation, and the feeling of being truly welcomed.

Saundra had a special fondness for the Home Shopping Network and took great delight in discovering new items-often jokingly proving that if they offered it, she already had it. She loved tending to her garden and had a remarkable talent for helping things thrive, especially her treasured hibiscus plants, which she nurtured with patience and pride.

She enjoyed outings to the theater and relaxing movie nights, especially watching her favorite films from The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter series. A lifelong reader, she found comfort and strength in reading her Bible and also enjoyed exploring books of many kinds, always eager to learn or be inspired.

One of her greatest joys was baking for her children and family. Whether it was for a holiday, a special occasion, or just because, she shared her love generously through homemade treats, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Saundra is survived by her children, Max Strawn (Tawnya) of Princeton, Texas, Krysta Bates (Kent) of Blue Ridge, Texas, and Jamie Pruett (Sydney); grandchildren, Derek, Sara, Haley, Jase, Jasper, and Jackson; brother, Marvin "Sonny" Cullum of Princeton, Texas; sister, Shirley Williams (Levi) of Trenton, Texas; and a host of extended family members and friends, who will miss her and cherish her memory.

Saundra was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Genevieve Cullum, granddaughter, JoDee Strawn, sisters, Lucille Strome and Patricia Chisum, and brother and sister, Vern and Verna Cullum.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas, 75013.
