It is with great sadness and broken hearts to announce our dearest Scott Lee Archuleta, 54, passed away on February 7, 2025.
Scott is survived by his 4 children, Samantha Driggs, Chance Archuleta, Charlie Archuleta and Clayton Archuleta. His parents, Charlie and Teresa Archuleta. His brother Todd Archuleta and his two sisters, Yvette Chavez and Nicole Kenyon. He also has many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
As a Master Electrician, he was busy throughout the valley working Arch Electric and was an active volunteer in the community. "Scott was one of those people who truly felt like sunshine. He had such a calming presence and made sure everyone around him was ok. He was such an instrumental part in our organization and was involved with Habitat for almost two decades. Scott has been involved with Habitat on and off since 2006 when they started the Fox Hollow neighborhood in Edwards, and he was still very involved with them to this day. Not only had he saved them $100ks of thousands of dollars over the years by being so generous with his time and talent, but he truly exemplified the spirit of Habitat - one of compassion, integrity and generosity. He did this because, "it was really important for him to show Charlie and Cleyton the importance of giving back to the community". A true loss for the community because he really did believe in and worked towards making the community better for everyone" (Habitat).
His other passions consisted of anything in the great outdoors of Colorado, and he loved to share them with others. One being Rugby. He built a brotherhood and community with the Defiance Rugby Club of the Roaring Fork Valley. He not only played, he sponsored international players and local high school teams, on and off the pitch.
Scott also, had an unwavering love navigating the Colorado River. Whether, he was guiding the raft through its rapids, casting his fly rod during a hatch, to catch rainbows and browns, or wading in a quiet creek chasing brook trout on his lunch break, it was simply watching friends and family share in his joys that brought him the most happiness. He cherished sharing his knowledge and passion for the water, always eager to teach others about the beauty of the rivers and mountains, this is what truly brought him joy. The river always had a way of bringing out a childlike smile on his face. It was his form of meditation and where he found peace.
He also loved to elk hunt. More importantly, he loved to guide others in their hunt and gained happiness in seeing them reap their rewards. It was never about him; it was about the experience he had in being with friends and family sharing in other people's success and happiness.
Most of all, his biggest dreams were a sense of family. Not only in the one he had, but also the one built by the many friendships he made throughout his life. All were part of HIS family, and he would do anything for family. Those around him couldn't help but be drawn into his world, eager to experience the magic he so loved.
More domestic hobbies consisted of crocheting blankets for his kids, sewed the holes in their socks and he loved a big pot of spaghetti. Everything he did was ultimately for his boys. All his passions he shared always included his boys. Their passions were his passions and not one happened without the other. He loved his children so very deeply, more than they will ever know.
His light, his laughter and warm embrace will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing our one and only, Scotty. We will miss him greatly. We love you Scott.

Scot lived just down the street from me. He would call every day to check in and make sure my family and I were okay. Charlie, his son, and I first met in the nurse´s office-we were both trying to fake our way out of school, not even knowing we lived so close to each other. About a week later, I was at the park when Charlie saw me and said hi. He invited me over, and that´s when I met Scot.

Every time I was at their house, Scot made the best food ever. He taught me how to go rafting, shoot a basketball, and fish. He always had this chair in the corner of the living room where he would sit, just a constant presence.

No matter what was going on, he was the kindest person I´d ever met-kind not only to people, but to animals too. One time, a bird made a nest on the mistletoe above his front door, so he used the back door for at least a month just to avoid disturbing it.

Only about a month after becoming friends with the family, he gave me his Oculus. It´s still sitting on my dresser-I can´t even put it on without crying.

I hope Paula, the rest of his family, and all his friends are doing okay after everything that´s happened. We all miss you, Scot.

I consider myself lucky to have met Scott, even if only for a short time. We met during hunting season in 2023, and I knew the first time I met him that he was someone I wanted to be friends with.
He was always quick with kind words or to help... the first time I met him he was helping someone put chains on their tires. Later that day he was hiking up/down hills trying to find elk for others. A couple of days later he stopped what he was doing, drove miles into the backcounty, then hiked a few hundred yards up/down hills multiple times to help me carry my animal out. The whole time, all he did was say how happy he was for me. Later that night we had a drink with some friends and he continued to brag to them about me and my trophy. It was never about him or any of his amazing accomplishments. That was the way most conversations went as well.
Honestly, the whole time I met him all he did was elevate others. I never heard a negative word.
We also talked about family a lot and how proud of his children he was. It wasn´t just words either, he genuinely lit up talking about them.
I am truly saddened by his passing. He was truly a light in the world and undoubtedly made it a better place.
