MORENCI – Scott Phillip Bachman, age 43, of Morenci, passed away at his residence on Monday, August 25, 2025. He was born in Adrian on April 20, 1982, to James P. and Peggy S. (Scott) Bachman. Scott attended and graduated from Morenci High School in 2000, and then furthered his education, earning an Associates Degree in Business from Jackson Community College. On September 24, 2005, he married Susan M. Gingerich in Hillsdale, and she survives.
Scott was the proud owner of Bachman Kennels, breeding nationally recognized dogs, such as Basset Hounds and Beagles. He was a member of the American Kennel Club, the National Kennel Club, and the United Kennel Club, winning numerous awards and ribbons. He has sold dogs to people in 48 of the 50 states, and also to many notable people throughout his career.
Scott was very proud of his family and loved spending time with his boys. He never missed an opportunity to shoot hoops with his boys and their many friends or attend any of his kids' sporting events. His family was not the only people who benefitted from his kindness and generosity, Scott was always willing to extend a hand to anyone. Always having the best intentions for everyone, Scott loved to take kids under his wing – coaching them in sports or life in general. He loved to "build them up" and watch them grow into strong, caring individuals. He was also a very big supporter of the Hudson and Morenci communities. In his free time, Scott greatly loved fishing, hunting, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Scott is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years, Susan; sons, Thomas, Cameron, Noah, and Kolt; parents, James and Peggy; brother, Clayton (Joanna) and their son Bentley; grandmother, Carol Bachman; father-in-law, Melvin (Belinda) Gingerich; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tammy (Tim) Van Haitsma, Don (Renee) Brunette, Kim (Todd) Barnette, Scott (Kathy) Gingerich, Danny (Kimberly) Brunette, Chip (Merissa) Gingerich, Todd (Sarah) Gingerich, and Kirk (Leslie) Gingerich; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, James Bachman; maternal grandparents, Robert and Pauline Scott; and mother-in-law, Karen Gingerich.
The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM, at the Morenci Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM, with Jason Bryant, officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Fellowship with the family will continue with a luncheon hosted at the Hudson High School cafeteria.
