Scott Covell Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Parrish Funeral Home - Selma on Feb. 4, 2026.
Scott "Scotty" Waylon Covell, age two, passed away on Sunday, February 1st, 2026. He was born on October 25th, 2023. From the moment he was born, he brought joy and laughter to all those who were blessed with the opportunity of meeting him. He was a foodie and enjoyed eating-so much so that he had breakfast, lunch… lunch again, dinner… and then dinner again. But don't forget the snacks between meals… oh! And here recently, a bedtime banana.
His favorite things included bubbles, balls, bedtime stories, and playing with his best friend and sister, Scarlett. Did we also mention the ladies' man he was? Those big blue eyes and long eyelashes were irresistible. They'd make anyone's heart melt. Aside from being a foodie and being precious, he was also very loving. Little man loved his cuddles. When he'd hug you, he'd melt right into you or press his chubby, rose-colored cheeks against yours. His image will be forever engrained in the hearts of those who got to know him and love him.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandfather, John Bundy, and Kennith Gregory; his great-uncle, Jamie Houghtaling; his grandmother, Faith Rance; his grandfather, Dean Riel; and his uncles, Louis and Clay Rance.
Scotty is survived paternally by his loving family: Scarlett Covell, Thomas Houghtaling, and Yoselin Wences. His grandparents are Scott Lelund Covell, Sunni Foster, Shellie Covell, Catalina Ramirez, Carmela Albarran, Aurelio Ramirez and Glenna Riel . His aunts are Clarissa Rodriguez, Julieta Rios, Megan Houghtaling, Monica Sollinger, and Bernice Covell. His uncles are Benjamin Rodriguez, Mateo Rios, Caleb Houghtaling, Cody Sollinger, John Ramirez, Cody Johnson, and Jacob Houghtaling. His cousins are Addy and Ella Rodriguez; Oaklynn and Oliver Houghtaling; Lilly and Delilah Sollinger; Abby, Ethan, and Mateo Rios; Faith, Hope, Heaven, Lily, and Byron Houghtaling; Emilee Moore; and Colton Covell.
He is survived maternally by his mother, Kristen Bundy; his grandparents, Kimberly and Chad Bundy; his great-grandmothers, Linda Bundy and Betty Gregory; his uncles, Joshua, Eli Bundy and Joey Weaver; his aunts, Chloe Bundy and Becky Weaver; his great-aunt and great-uncle, Joni and Jason Riddick; and cousins, Holly and Lilly Riddick.
