WEST BOYLSTON-Scott Dana DePatsy, 56, died Monday, May 24, 2021 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Holden, son of the late Alfred "Jack" and Rosalyn (Krostosky) DePatsy. Scott served in the U.S. Army for a brief period prior to honorable discharge due to his health. He worked in Security while he lived in Las Vegas and then as a Corrections Officer here in Massachusetts. Scott was also once employed at the former Norton Company. Scott is survived by three children; Scott D. DePatsy, Jr. and his wife Kristen of Killingly, CT, Matthew D. DePatsy of W. Boylston and Emily R. DePatsy of W. Boylston, a brother, Mark DePatsy and a sister, Sandra Army, both of W. Boylston. He also leaves seven beautiful grandchildren; Ava, Scarlett, Jackson, Rylie, Dakota, Oliviah and Zane, a nephew, Robert Daszuta, Jr. and his wife Becky, great nephew, Garrett Robbins, two nieces, Melanie Daszuta and Sherry Robbins and her husband Trent, his godmother, Donna Castagnetti Smith, an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs Thomas Barrows of Atlanta, GA, along with many cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Daszuta, Sr. His grandchildren and kids were his world and spending time with them was what he lived for. He always looked forward to the monthly card games with his childhood and life-long friends, Jack Lepore, Sean O'Brien, Paul Gonelli and Larry Bay. Scott's acts of kindness were shared with everyone. He would give flowers and candy to elderly women at the church Bingo for their birthday so they would feel special. When he was able to, he would buy hamburgers and hand them out to the homeless in Worcester, or a coffee or cold drink for the police on patrol in town. He always had a kind heart and gave to those in need or helped anyone he could. He waited with hope for a liver transplant and cherished life even while dealing with pain and suffering every day. His PCA, Luis Ortiz, who cared for him daily was a "Godsend". The true definition of "what so ever you do for the least of my brothers". Scott's legacy will live on through his family and friends, and the memories he left us with. Scott's Funeral will be held Friday, May 28th. Visiting hours are from 9:00am until 10:30am at Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston Street, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, W. Boylston. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery.

This man was my grandfather-my papa. He left great memories for us all. He showed great love to his family always. And was always confident. He was a amazing man. I remember he use to take my and my siblings out and never said no to what we could get. He wanted us to be happy always. He knew it was his time soon, so he spent his final days with his loving family he was the best papa there could be. A amazing man. A loving mentor. My idle my name is Jackson Daniel depatsy his grandchild. I am now 14. May Scott rest in peace and fly high

My Deepest sympathy to The DePatsy Family, friends of, children, grandchildren. Although Scott and I only had a few years together and that being during his sickness, I will forever cherish his friendship. I am the voice on his cell answering machine. "Herman, Baby, I Love your voice, put a message on my answering machine you..." Scott would call me to pray with him and for other family members. It was a privilege to spend time with him and to be a witness to his strength and character in suffering. Scott really loves The LORD and I look forward to seeing him again.

"HI my beautiful daughter" .... I would never get tired of hearing you greet me with that. You made me feel content, and safe, and whole. So many nights I would stay up late watching you sleep and dream. Anytime something seemed wrong I sensed it and knew right away. We had that connection because you would sense if something was wrong with me too, you always just knew. We were always ourselves with one another. I can hear your voice still, I replay so many memories constantly in my mind. You were my entire life, I'd wake up and call you, I'd eat lunch and call you, I'd run up to your house and call you while I walked to your house, then I'd call you when I left, I'd call you after I gave Ava a bath, then I'd call you before I went to bed. Sometimes you'd call me in the middle of the night and I'd always answer. Now whenever I do anything at all I think "I have to call dad" and I can't, so I say a prayer or talk out loud, or listen to your voicemails and pretend I'm talking to you again. I will always keep your memories alive, and I'll always speak with pride when I mention your name. You were the strongest man, and I thank God he gave me someone so pure and so beautiful to call my Dad. You were loved by so many, and made such an impact on everyone you met. Everything reminds me of you and I know you're watching over me. I love you, ill see you again one day with open arms and wait to hear your voice say .... "HI my beautiful daughter".

By the way ...

"I love you and miss you plus one to whatever you say .... I said it first"

My Deepest sympathy and condolences to the DePatsy Family.
Scotty, was a cousin of my Mother's; one of many in her large DePatsy Family; making Scotty my 2nd cousin. I grew up knowing how kind he was and was very fond of his mother, my Great Aunt Rose. Growing up, my younger brother and I had fond memories of Uncle Jack and Aunty Rose; and of course Scotty, Mark and Sandy.

I will always remember Scotty most for his kindness. He was one of my Mother's favorite cousins. He had such great love for everyone and all who knew him, loved him.

His legacy of love will love on in the stories we share, and his memory will be kept alive in our hearts. He is in each new dawn.

Our prayers and thoughts are with his family at this time.

Sincerely,

Teri M
And Chuck and Eileen Strong.
